Meadow Wood Custom Doors was born in 2003. It is the brain child of Dan Draper, Chris Kelly, and years of finish carpentry and woodworking experience. Our philosophy from the beginning has been, and will continue to be, to provide a unique product and experience to every one of our customers. As we started Meadow Wood Custom Doors we noticed that the industry trend was to provide doors as quickly and as cheaply as possible, regardless of quality. The result of this trend has been a market flooded with problem doors, unhappy customers and ruined reputations.
We decided to do things a little differently. In order to make this a lasting company we decided to provide a door that we would be proud to stand behind and call our own. We still build each of our doors one at a time to ensure that each one leaves our shop nearly flawless. We consider ourselves more as artists than door manufacturers, and our customers have come to recognize that.
Another one of our goals has been to provide the best customer service around. We get to know each of our customers personally as we work with them to design the door of their dreams. Our customers trust that when they have a question or a concern that we will always be happy to help. We go out of our way to make the experience of buying a door as rewarding as possible, in fact many of our customers have said that buying their entry door was the best part of their building experience.
The story behind Meadow Wood Custom Doors is unique. Our custom doors are made in the Wood I building. Wood I began as a shop where people could come in and use the equipment and shop space for a fee. Chris and Dan came along early and set up shop in the same building as regular tenants. Because the shop was designed to produce fine custom furniture, it was perfect for making custom artistic doors.
Wood I, now known as Bent Nail Designs, rarely allows the public to use the shop anymore. They have now become a maker of artistic custom cabinetry. They have become known for creating some of the finest custom cabinetry and specialty pieces. Perhaps what makes Bent Nail special is their amazing finishes. Meadow Wood and Bent Nail Designs, although separate companies, still share the same building and have many of the same customers.
